01 Aug Build your business in 90 minutes a day
How to “Build your business in 90 minutes a day”. Well, that is the assertion that Nigel Botterill and Martin Gladdish are claiming in their book of the same name. If you get the chance it really is worth a read.
It claims that time is our most precious resource, and we aren’t using it as efficiently as possible. If you were to ask yourself what is the most important thing that you could be doing for your business today, what would it be?
For most business owners, it would be either be
- “How Can I grow my business”
- “How can I find and keep more customers”
However how many of us, dedicate time to do this one most important thing and really push our business forward? If we aren’t doing this, then why? Is the end vision not great enough to make us want to reach it no matter what. At times we can be so focused on the ‘now’ we don’t think about what ‘could be’. Are we working in the business rather than on the business?
The book claims that by focusing 90 minutes a day, and focusing on the stuff that really matters we can not only transform our business but also our own personal life. By utilising a 90 minute chunk of time, we can be highly focused, any shorter, it becomes inefficient, any longer, then we run the risk of diminishing returns, and our mind wanders onto other things. If we were to be honest with ourselves, are we busy for the sake of being busy, or can we be more efficient and productive in what we do.
If you think about it 90 minutes a day, 5 days a week, this equates to a whole extra working day, every week. Not only is it a whole new working day, but it is also a hyper productive working day. You are concentrating 100% on something that really matters to your business.
Surely we can all find an extra 30 minutes a day to do what is most important for our business!
